Celebrate nature! That’s what the Walker Nature Center will help you do at its annual Spring Festival on May 7, 2016, a free community event with fun for all ages. The festival will have indoor and outdoor exhibits from multiple organizations, plus entertainment, craft-making for kids and native plants for sale. Guests also can enjoy the trails, fishing, or canoe or kayak rentals at Lake Audubon for $3.
This event, from 1 pm to 5 pm, is a good way for children to learn about nature, animals, and environmental and conservation issues. Organizations present will include the United States Geological Survey, Rescue Reston, Wildlife Rescue League, American Bird Conservancy, and more. Entertainment includes a puppet show for kids and live music. You can see the full list and a detailed schedule of events on the event’s Facebook page.
The Walker Nature Center is on 1,300 acres of open space and offers year-round programs and trail access. It is located at 11450 Glade Dr, Reston, Virginia 20191.
