Who says all the holiday fun has to take place on the weekends? One of the most fun community events during the holidays takes place on Monday, December 1st, 2014. At the Town of Vienna’s celebration, guests can take a holiday stroll along Church Street to enjoy family-friendly activities, shop, and meet Santa. Santa will arrive and greet children at the Historic Freeman Store and Museum and then help Mayor light the Holiday Tree at 6:20 pm.
All merchants along Church Street will remain open for holiday shoppers during the event, which includes fun activities such as a petting zoo, live music, and free hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows at supervised bonfires. The Church Street Holiday Stroll is free and goes from 6 pm to 9 pm. This article by Vienna Patch has lots of details including which historic homes are open during the event, and which roads are closed. In the spirit of the season, guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to add to a collection for charity.
