Mount Vernon, home of George Washington, is offering schools as well as public libraries and local, state or federal government offices a 30″ X 36″ beautifully framed replica of Rembrandt Peale’s “porthole” portrait of George Washington so they can “celebrate Washington’s character, leadership, and accomplishments.”
The free portraits are offered to these specific organizations in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients agree to display the portrait prominently in a location such as the main entry, hallway, auditorium, classroom, library, front office, or cafeteria. Requests are being accepted now online at the Mount Vernon website.
