Who says family time and New Year’s Eve (NYE) fun have to be separate things? Many adults opt to make NYE a grown-ups-only event, of course. But some families prefer to ring in the new year together, singing Auld Lang Syne, letting the kids stay up late for the countdown to midnight, and enjoying some bubbly, whether it’s champagne, sparkling cider, or both! In Northern Virginia there are many fun ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve with kids. These events activities include daytime parties on December 31, evening community festivals on New Year’s Eve, and walks and fitness activities on January 31 to start the new year 2017 on a healthy note!
Please note that events in our annual guide to New Year’s Eve with kids vary greatly. Some are alcohol-free events, while others are not; many are free to the community while others have admission fees. Please see our guide for details and follow the links to official sites for details. Happy New Year!
