This Christmas season, travel around the world to see how people internationally celebrate when they’re “home for the holidays.” McLean Bible Church invites the community to get a taste of multicultural celebrations at its free “Christmas Around the World” event, December 14-15, 2018.
The megachurch is turning its Tysons Campus, at 8925 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182, into an international “destination” with multiple attractions. The hours for this event are are Friday 5:30-9 pm and Saturday 3:30-9 pm. Parking is available on site and is free.
Visitors are invited to “grab a passport and travel around the world” from Asia to Africa to the Americas to learn about Christmas celebrations and traditions in various parts of the world. As guests complete the nine tasks in their passports, they get stamps; collecting all nine of these earns them a prize. Visitors also can sample cuisine from countries around the world, and shop in a Christmas village. In this market they can shop for Christmas gifts from different countries that support many of the church’s global charity partners.
The festival also includes a live nativity scene and a display of nativity scenes from countries around the world. For kids there also will be crafts, a photo booth, and bounce houses. Guests also will enjoy performances from cultural groups reflecting worship from many nations. These concerts are on Friday night at 6 pm and 7:30 pm and on Saturday at 4 pm and 7:30 pm. McLean Bible Church also will have information on its Gifts of Hope program for helping orphans around the world. Learn more on the Christmas Around the World page.
