National Night Out, an annual community event to promote safety and good neighborhood relations, takes place across the country on the first Tuesday in August. The goal is to encourage police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. To celebrate, some neighborhoods host large community gatherings with information on public safety and fun activities for all ages.
The latest such event in our area is the first National Night Out to take place at Lake Anne Plaza on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. The event will feature community organizations along with live entertainment and activities for kids. Among the planned activities are live bands, a DJ, a dance crew, dance groups, a moon bounce, and games. See updates on the event Facebook page and learn more about National Night Out on the official site.
