The unofficial end to summer is coming soon, and the Town of Herndon will wrap up the season with its annual food, drink, and music festival. The Herndon Labor Day Festival, this year on Monday, September 3, 2018, is the biggest event in our area for that holiday.
The outdoor celebration on the Town Green, at 777 Lynn Street downtown, features music, a craft show, food vendors, and samplings from Virginia wineries and local micro breweries.
The festival runs all day, 11 am to 5 pm. Basic admission is $5 per person for anyone ages 13 and up (free to kids 12 and younger). Admission with wine and beer tastings is $25 (and includes either a wine glass or four beer tastings); tastings end at 4 pm. There will be at least seven local breweries and 10 Virginia wineries, along with multiple food vendors.
The festival will feature five bands playing rock, country, ’80s pop, bluegrass, and more throughout the day. The full concert lineup and list participating wineries and breweries is available now on the official event website. Craft vendors include nearly two dozen companies selling jewelry, home decorations, kitchen items, candles, pet toys, hair accessories, and more. Entertainment also includes some lawn games. Please note that pets are NOT allowed at the Labor Day festival.
Parking is free and is available at the Station Street parking lot or the Herndon Municipal Center lot. There also will be some street parking, but it may be limited, with some restrictions.
