One of the most fun traditions in our area each autumn is the Fall for Fairfax KidsFest! This two-day event is a celebration of the changing of the seasons and an opportunity for local children to enjoy non-stop fun. The event features midway rides, live performances, plenty of games and attractions, crafting stations, community vendors, and more. Think of it like the big annual Celebrate Fairfax festival — but geared toward children, and with free admission!
This year’s festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, September 29-30, 2018, at the Fairfax County Government Center. A big highlight is the non-stop shows on two entertainment stages, including music, comedy, and science and animal shows. Performers include notable acts such as The Great Zucchini, Rocknoceros, Mad Science, Wildlife Ambassadors, and Mr. Gabe. There also are numerous performances by local students including Irish dancing, Chinese dancing, martial arts demonstrations, and ballet.
Other fun includes an interactive game station, kids’ crafts, a Wiggle Car Village, Pumpkin Bowling, moon bounce for toddlers, a touch-a-truck, scarecrow-making area, public safety exhibits, carnival rides, and, for a small fee, pony rides. See details at www.FallforFairfax.com.
