By Patricia Hall, Fairfax Family Fun
We are fans of Dutch Wonderland, a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, theme park for kids, and have written about it numerous times, including a very detailed post based on some of our visits, and through a guest post about a family’s first-time visit to the park. We also mentioned Dutch Wonderland in our round-up of mid-Atlantic theme parks celebrating Halloween. Now we have a special offer for you — a chance to visit during Happy Hauntings and save $4 per ticket.
Happy Hauntings is the special Halloween event at the park, this year taking place on Saturdays and Sundays, October 15-16, 22-23, and 29-30. Operating hours are 2-9 pm on Saturdays and 2-8 pm on Sundays. The park provides a fun and safe place for young children (the recommended age is 12 and under) to enjoy Halloween fun with no fright.
Happy Hauntings is now in its 15th year, and Dutch Wonderland is offering Fairfax Family Fun readers a special rate of $20.99 per ticket for online purchases. Just go to this page and enter the promo code: fairfaxhauntblog16. The rate is good for any day of Happy Hauntings (subject to tax and not valid with any other discounts; all tickets purchased with this code are non-refundable). Children age two and under receive free admission.
And what exactly can you expect at Dutch Wonderland’s Happy Hauntings?
- Unlimited rides and entertainment
- A very family-friendly environment with many ride options, great spots for photo opps, and a picnic area just outside of the park
- Non-scary but festive Halloween theming, with holiday decor all around the park and more than 20 themed rides (such as the “Scareeeee-Go-Round” and the “Bat Swing”) and shows.
- A Trick-or-Treat Trail with 10 stops for goodies and other treat (the park will provide special bags for this).
- Fun activities such as pumpkin painting and “ghoulish games”
