As one of the Fairfax County’s biggest parks with the most offerings, Burke Lake Park makes for a great place to visit at any time. The 888-acre park with trails, sporting and water activities, a carousel, mini golf course, and miniature train is especially popular in the summer.
But come some days in December, the park transforms into a Winter Wonderland. Fairfax County Park Authority is again hosting this event, which features a full day of fun for guests of all ages. The event takes place over two weekends, Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 9-10, 2017. Activities at Burke Lake Park Winter Wonderland include train rides on the Holiday Express, tours on the “U.S.S. Reindeer,” and more. In keeping with the holiday theme, the carousel becomes the “Carolers Carousel” and there will be Snowman’s Wagon Rides and Gingerbread Man’s Golf. Other fun includes visits with Santa, a fire pit for s’mores, and treats including hot chocolate and spiced cider and candy canes. Admission includes all activities, treats, and a craft item.
Burke Lake Park’s Winter Wonderland will take place from 10 am to 4 pm both days. Admission is $15 per person in advance (register online) or $20 at the gate. Burke Lakes Park is located in Fairfax Station and is easily accessed from the Fairfax County Parkway.
Is the $15-$20 ticket to get into the park or for rides? Or is it free for Fairfax County residents? And why do i have to register for train or wagon ride? For October I didn’t have To register for anything at all and just the paire the ride fair.
