Do you miss the light shows from the holiday season? Northern Virginia is home to a few major light festivals that illuminate the evening landscape in winter. Now springtime gets its chance to shine with a festival — this weekend the first spring light show in Virginia makes its debut this weekend.
Amazing Farm Fun at Ticonderoga is hosting the Spring Walk of Lights. The event, April 7-30, 2017, takes place on the grounds of this farm known for its many attractions and seasonal festivals. Organizers say you can “enjoy Farm Town as it comes alive, wonder past the notorious pirate ship adventure, and enjoy the tunnel of amaze.”
Features of the attraction include an 18-foot bunny, a pirate ship that stands 26 feet tall, and 400,000 lights and scenes set to music. The walk-through light show should take about 30 minutes to see, and it will be open rain or shine. The event will have food vendors, a bonfire for s’mores, and a market with souvenirs, light wands and headbands, and organic products such as free range chicken and duck eggs and honey.
Admission is $12.95 for guests ages four and up (ages three and under are free) and are issues for time intervals between 7:30 pm and 10 pm to help manage parking and attendance.
On weekends, Amazing Farm Fun will continue to host its Spring festival with twice-daily Easter egg hunts, hay rides, farm animals to visit, and fun attractions including slides, pedal carts, a jumping pillow, and more. Admission to the daytime event is $10.95 per person for ages two and up.
